Helen Clark is superb at it, she’s destroyed more National leaders than any other Labour leader. Come to think about it, she’s dispatched more Labour leaders than anyone else too. Now Labour is planning a major re-shuffle. It’s needed.
We have the largest Cabinet in the Western world per head of population. Killing the wounded is the hardest job in politics, particularly if they have been loyal subjects.
One thing I am musing over is the “shotgun” approach - a blast to the left, a one to the right, three more to the left etc. There isn’t much flow over the course of the article. It’s like he just wanted to offload on a few things, but mainly “the Hollow Woman”.
One thing I noticed, was the position of the story on the midday radio NZ news. That would be on the verge of buried - 5 min in, right before some story about dolphins. I wonder how the other stations were covering it?
While it’s now patently clear that Helen is simply warming John Key’s seat until the election, this will be the moment that the change of Labour leader started. It’s high time.
