Well, that’s me.

I’m done.
Halfdone has been a blast for the year and a bit it’s been going. From getting a handful of page views a day, it now gets about 150 if I post.
Some blogs can get away with posting occasionally, especially the ones that are well thought out like MandM. But for the sort of blog that halfdone is, you have to post once a day at minimum, and I expect nothing less from myself.
Unfortunately, I can no longer continue doing that.
It’s a bad time. I’ve been fortunate enough to be part of the Kill the Bill project. Bloggers are needed now more than ever, with Labour manipulating the electoral laws to hang onto power. The wife has also started blogging more, which has been really great - it’s always added that extra spice to the blog. (Initially, her posts always were the top posts, even though there weren’t so many of them.)
Regular readers may have noticed a period a couple of months back where posting was scratchy. The problem that forced that absence has not gone away. It’s resurfaced recently, and has cut dramatically short the posts I was planning on my EFB submissions survey and other things. (I’ve passed the data onto others who may post on it.) I’m forced into choosing whether to continue my employment or my hobby - short of being offered some way of blogging for a living, my employment has to win.
When I started the blog, I was looking to fill a hole. That hole is what I would have described as “a NZ political, conservative blog that doesn’t hate Christianity and posts daily.” I don’t know how well I filled that hole, but I do know there’s a couple of blogs that fit into that same area somewhat, so I’m going to recommend them.
NZ Conservative is pretty good, aside from being Catholic. Sorry guys, but that prayer to St Michael at the bottom of your page freaks me out. Pray to God through Christ - he’s the one with the power. Also, if “in doubt”, quote the Bible, not the pope.
TBR.CC is pretty good too. More regular posting would help, and kick out some of those trolls while you’re at it.
Thanks must also go out to Whaleoil for recommending us those months ago, and DPF for quoting me once in a while. David’s certainly not the first blog I read, but it was the first NZ one (of significance) and it’s a great read from someone who speaks his own mind, not someone else’s. Whaleoil - I think that comment of David’s about being wonderfully offensive went to your head - tone it down occasionally!
To the left - you’re nuts. You don’t understand the right, and assuming people are doing things because they’re greedy or power hungry or they hate the poor doesn’t do you any good. Worst part is, when your theories fail, you patch them up with conspiracies. Your problem is simple - those who remain on the left are those who are not honest enough to admit when they’re wrong. Oh, how it shows.
I haven’t talked much about my faith on this blog. Don’t let that fool you, I answer first to Christ. I know full well that a lot of things I’ve said on this blog were very foolish, hurtful and ignorant - rather like my everyday life.
At the end of the day, we all die. If Christianity is right, then the Bible tells us that only those who have believed in the saving work of Jesus will be saved.
Well it’s late, so like so many other posts I’ll just have to end it there. Hm, maybe I’ll take another post to finish what I was going to say? Oh, wait…
(Bye from ILOVEMRSTIGGYWINKLE too.)

Thanks for all your posts and humanity.
You will undoubtedly be replaced but who ever does will be hard pressed to do a better job.
Good luck with your work plans.. db..
All the best and God bless
Good luck and god bless. Bad times quickly turn into good and it is only the good memories that remain.
P.S and goodbye to Ilovemrtiggywinkle too.
Thanks for your much-enjoyed contribution.
Like NZ Conservative, your blog here has always been a calming place to rest from the sometimes downright negative hurly-burly of the bottom dwellers that infest NZ politics.
What a great contribution you have made - Well done. It was never half done. It was just right (although I was enjoying the increase in posts from Ilovemrtiggywinkle too).
I wish you and your wife the very best in your endeavours.
I hope you get time to drop by occasionally.
God Bless.
It’s been a day. Have you changed your mind yet?
