Idiot/Savant is a bit upset about National turning down the head of state referendum bill.
But to put it bluntly, that is not their decision to make. The constitution belongs to the people, not to MPs, and they should be enabling us to discuss it. By standing in the way of such a discussion, the National party has marked itself as opposed to democracy.
In fairness though, Idiot isn’t that fond of the people’s voice himself. You can read here the violent language he uses towards those supporting parent’s rights to use reasonable physical punishment, and have their day in court when accused of assault while doing so.
(Oh, and somehow putting in law the ability to use communist-style intimidation on the nations parents doesn’t stack up against the government firing a few regional elected bureaucrats who can’t do their jobs.)
