PDS – Palin Derangement Syndrome – to Replace BDS?

Well, I think so.

Palin did an interview after pardoning a thanksgiving turkey. She did so with the other turkeys being killed in the background. The interview was unremarkable, and you see very little of the turkey as it’s put in some sort of chute to assist the killing process.

Yet somehow this is supposed to be “offensive”.

But reading through the comments in youtube is offensive – one person has posted exactly the same c-word obscenity 3 times. Some slightly more sane (but still pretty crazy) ones here.

This comment on youtube however is worth reading.

Yep. This is where turkeys come from. Alaskans are people of the land, not Saab-driving yuppies. Folks who come from the country know that this is how you get a turkey to the table – by killing it in the most efficient way possible. The Saab-driving yuppies who think blood is “icky” and “embarrassing” and are laughing nervously because the precious coccoon that separates them from their meat will still be snarfing up their turkey and gravy this Thanksgiving.

Liberals – kind, loving people in touch with reality.

USA responsible for Global Warming – Evidence

Well, it’s now clear that the USA is responsible for global warming.

Clearly there’s a big fridge motor somewhere, which is cooling the USA at the expense of the rest of us!

I blame Sarah Palin. She must have something to do with it – she one passed a guy in the street who once kissed a girl who thought that running big fridges would solve global warming.

At least, that’s what I heard.

Can’t you shoot your foot off like that?

Newsweek puts a photo of Palin with a gun on the cover, and one of the LA times commentators asks:

“Hey, is that even the right way to hold a rifle? Can’t you shoot your foot off like that?”

Stop the ACLU points out:

“What we have here is another denizen of Hollywood that knows zip about firearms. Palin is not holding a rifle. And even if it were a breechloading rifle, with the breech cracked open, draped over a shoulder, one cannot shoot one’s foot off regardless. A breech must be closed before any foot shooting can be in the offing.”

In other words, another ignorant liberal who is prepared to bash a conservative based on total, complete, ignorance.

That is Sexist

Democrats may not be racist, but they certainly have a serious problem with women, and sheltering from criticism behind fake accusations of racism.

In the latest revision, they’ve changed the headline from “Analysis: Palin’s words carry racial tinge” to: Analysis: Palin’s words may backfire on McCain.

Maybe not as much as this nasty bias will backfire on the Associated Press.

But the story also includes this unbelievably crass statement from “Democratic strategist” Jenny Backus:

“It’s a giant changing of the subject,” said Jenny Backus, a Democratic strategist. “The problem is the messenger. If you want to start throwing fire bombs, you don’t send out the fluffy bunny to do it. I think people don’t take Sarah Palin seriously.”

In an article about Sarah Palin’s subtle subtext of racism, this very unsubtle sexist slur against the Governor of Alaska goes unremarked, reported straight, as if it were a simple observation, nothing more. These people are completely beyond shame, both the Democrats who say these things and the Associated Press who enables them.

Shocker – Palin Not Idiotic in Debate

The liberal media are in shock after Palin didn’t fall over herself in the debate yesterday.

I mean, why wouldn’t she? In all those interviews where she was thrown questions that the interviewers knew were impossible for her to answers she looked stupid.

Did they really think that deliberately creating an interview to make her look stupid would somehow change her ability to debate? Really?

Palin “Bumbling”, but the guy who should know hardly better

The NZ Herald has a nice headline “Bumbling Palin stumped by CBS interview”. Well, that’s what happens when you pick topics you know the interviewee isn’t expert.

But what the Herald doesn’t tell…

However, Biden fares little better. He filibusters the follow-up, complaining about the Supreme Court decision invalidating part of the Violence Against Women Act. He does not actually name U.S. v. Morrison, which raises the question of whether he remembered it only because of his direct involvement in drafting the part of the law the Supreme Court invalidated. (Ironically, the ACLU opposed the original version of the VAWA on the ground that it allegedly violated the right to privacy.)

Worse, in the first question, Biden lectures Couric about the trimester framework of Roe, which he calls as close to a consensus as America can get. In reality, the Supreme Court ruled signaled that the trimester framework had “proved to be unsound in principle and unworkable in practice” in the 1989 case of plurality opinion in Webster v. Reproductive Health Services.* The trimester framework has been bad law for 19 years.

Palin, having spent her days dealing with state issues as Governor of Alaska, might be expected to stumble over these sorts of questions, which is probably why Couric asked them. Biden has been on the Senate Judiciary Committee for decades — what’s his excuse?

Our lipstick beats their Dipstick

Wow. Wow. Palin drew a crowd of 60,000 in a Florida rally.

And she did it without the enticements that Obama has a habit of offering.

In comments:

It’s even better than stated in the story. Obama drew a crowd of 20,000 in a town of 671,588 (according to Wikipedia).

Sarah Palin drew a crowd of 60,000, in a town of about 75,000 (again, according to Wikipedia).

Total percentages (approximate):
Obama: 2.9% of the people
Palin: 80% of the people

This is satire, but only just

If only the Obamessiah had had just a fraction of this sort of scrutiny, he’d be down the road in no time flat.

Post 1: “A web site paid for by the Alaska Democratic Party says unequivocally that the state of Alaska officially abandoned the Bridge to Nowhere project, and credits Governor Sarah Palin.”

Curious timing. Looks like it’s now back though.

Post 2: He points out that both Obama and Biden voted for the “Bridge to Nowhere” – even after they knew exactly what they were doing.

Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (“to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.

However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.

So in other words, when given a chance to correct a mistake, Palin did, Obama and Biden did not.

Now that is embarrassing.

Well, the list of Palin rumours has reached 71. He’s missing the car wash one.

But I love this one:

47: No, she’s not from another planet. No, I haven’t actually heard that one yet, but you wait. Okay, I have now heard it.

He’s quite humorous too

64. Yes, she did put the Governors plane on eBay. No, that’s not how it was finally sold. Yes, McCain did say it wrong. Bad McCain.
