Don Brash resigns

Parody of this post. I honestly can’t help myself, these guys write posts so over the top and so easily swapped around they’re just begging for it! I mean read this:

National is a Party divided and in crisis. So while some will get very excited over Don Brash’s resignation, Labour will get on with Governing in the interests of the many – looking to the major challenges facing New Zealand and working on forward looking solutions to those challenges.

Totally divorced from reality. There is no way that anyone, even Tony himself believes it.

Well, the inevitable has happened. Don Brash has resigned as leader of the National Party.

Although there is a bigger picture here. Brash is trying to limit Labour attacks by shutting down the main speculation about National, and has done so in a way that only Gentleman Don could. Hagar’s book will show only one thing – Hagar’s insipid brand of politics. As someone said today, the emails don’t change the true character of the modern National Party – a party that represents mainstream New Zealand. Labour on the other hand has secretly openly worked with extreme radical left wing interest groups at the expense of ordinary hard working New Zealanders.

National is a Party united and winning. So while some will get very excited over Don Brash’s resignation, National will get on with opposing the current government that is working for the interests of the few – looking to the major challenges facing New Zealand and working on forward looking solutions to those challenges.

UPDATE: It will be interesting when Helen is rolled watching all the left-wing bloggers disown her as corrupt and claim they never really thought she’d take them into the 2008 election and arguing as to who is competent to lead them now!”

UPDATE 2: Will Don Brash resign from politics altogether? Let’s hope not, it would be a shame to loose such a valuable member of Parliament. Hopefully they will go with the sensible option of John Key and Don Brash swapping jobs.

Insolent Prick sums it up in comments on Tony’s:

Helen Clark was Labour’s fourth leader in four years. I wouldn’t crow too much with claims of instability.

You have serious credibility issues, buddy. Labour is celebrating the release of a book based on stolen emails, supposedly revealing the “inner workings” of the National Party; your willingness to demonise a man and destroy his private life, just because you disagree with his policies show that when in comes to the politics of deceit, viciousness, and manipulation, National doesn’t hold a match to Labour.

You are celebrating that Labour has used every dirty tactic in the book to smear Brash. You then say he resigned because he was too weak.

The reality shows that Don Brash had enormous strength of character to withstand Labour Party personal abuse for so long. I’m not surprised he’s decided to step down. But if National used anything like the kind of disgusting behaviour Labour displayed towards Brash to Helen Clark, you pinkos would be rioting.

I am still wondering at Labour crowing about these emails – there’s no way that they’d be anywhere near as explosive as emails leaked from Labour. I’m in fact surprised that Labour doesn’t realise this and “stand on principle” on it. After all, governments fall, not oppositions.
