NRT vents his spleen on the NYPD, after officers were charged in a shooting incident. He says:
Meanwhile, New Yorkers ought to be asking their politicians why this sort of thing is allowed to keep happening – and why a domestic law enforcement agency with the duty of protecting people is displaying the same trigger-happy behavior as US forces in Iraq, and using massive lethal force at the slightest suggestion of a threat.
Perhaps he’s like the have a look the crime statistics – note the dramatic change over the years since Republicans started running the city. There’s no record here of Police shootings, but I understand they are both measured and have reduced just as dramatically.
Of course, the NYPD could switch to Tasers, but certain people are working hard to stop that happening.
