What’s worse than being pregnant, drunk and caught driving?
Doing it twice, and escaping from CYFS custody to do it.
Child Youth and Family has grave concerns for a pregnant 14-year-old girl who has escaped from its care.
The teenager has been caught twice over the past week for allegedly drink-driving in Whangarei. She was in a supervised home in Auckland when she escaped earlier today.
CYF deputy chief executive Ray Smith says in hindsight, her determination not to be helped was underestimated. He says the priority is to get the young girl and her unborn baby the support and care they need.
That last sentence really highlights much of the abortion debate for me.
The baby must be cared for, but on the other hand, it’s perfectly legal to kill it.
