Exactly. Very hypocritical to bang on about hypocrisy when their primary motivation is actually about delighting in the fact that some-one fails to live up to a high moral standard. That’s why hypocrisy is often seen as a greater crime than the crime – simply because they don’t really care about the crime, just the opportunity to justify their own low moral standards, or to tear down the concept of aspiring to higher moral standards.
I do like Kreft’s clarification on the true meaning of hypocrisy too. Very thought provoking.
